'shit happens in soccer', quoted by one of my classmates.
haha. true true.
since my gp essay was badly done, i shall do an essay outline regarding the world cup so far.
1st Lesson (paragraph 1): Life is never fair.
- i learnt that through academics
- i learnt it through friendships
- i learnt that through relationship, be it of what form.
- now i'm learning it through soccer.
- eg. Argentina vs Germany (An Argentinian soccer player was given a yellow card when someone kicked his leg, however, a free kick was
only given to Argentina when the Germans kicked at somewhere of someone, which was actually suppose to be a yellow card,
even the commentator agreed)
2nd lesson (paragraph 2): You have no one to believe in the world except yourself if you are playing with the home team.
- the entire crowd is the home team supporters, and even if the other team had supporters, it was
MINIMAL. (
and they make hell out of a noise, which irritates a hell out of me)
- eg. evident in all the matches with Germany, from group stages to quarter finals, and i believe more so to come
3rd lesson (paragraph 3): Fifa should just change its rules.
You know what it should change to?
The home team should just be entitled to go straight into the semi-finals.
- There is no point in playing at all because
luck (which i don't believe in) will be on your side, and all
the OFFICIALS as well.
4th lesson (paragraph 4): God is never around when you need him. (MOST IMPORTANT)
Evident in all the losing teams.
Personally for me, it was the match between Germany and Argentina.
I bet God was bias too.5th lesson (counter argument): There is hope afterall.
There is
hope, for some underdogs.
- eg. Australia, who qualified for the 1st time in the top 16
- eg. Ukraine, who beat the Swiss and got into the quarter and will be playing in this morning's match at 3am.
- eg. Ghana, who defeated USA who is actually the 5th in the world according to Newsweek, 2 is to 1.
(
just to state again, only Ukraine is in the quarter finals, the rest are AT HOME)
All in all, i conclude that soccer is a bias game and so is LIFE!
(try to notice the tone in all the italics font, except the one below of course. the line below is from deep down inside my heart.)
p.s. ARGENTINA STILL ROCKS AND SO DOES MESSI. i love Argentina.
